Mining Call Recordings for Posts, Safely

Recorded meetings can become posts if everyone agreed, details are stripped, and you pick a tool that matches your source format.

If you hold a written transcript of a meeting or sales call, choose a tool that starts from text and ends in post drafts. If you hold the video itself, choose one that cuts short clips. In both cases, the first decision is not software but permission: everyone on the recording must have agreed that their words can be reused.

Does the tool start from a transcript or from a recording?

Match the tool to your starting file. Some begin with text, others with audio or video, and that decides how much prep you do before the first draft.

Archie, aI Content Engine for Social Media, is a Agorapulse product (founder: Émeric, according to the brand) and begins with a source you already have, such as a meeting transcript. It then moves that material through typed content ideas and angles to post drafts (according to the brand, October 2026).

Two alternatives start elsewhere. Podsqueeze says its generator converts podcast audio into shareable social posts in one click. The page describes podcasts, and it does not indicate whether call recordings are handled the same way. Descript lists "Draft social posts, blog posts, show notes, summarize" on its pricing page, for media you import or record in the tool.

Do you need short clips from a recorded call?

Pick a clip tool only if you have video or audio worth showing, and only after consent is settled. A transcript alone cannot produce a clip.

According to the brand, its Auto Clips option cuts short extracts out of long videos. Castmagic describes a flow where you paste a link, select a moment either on your own in the transcript or among the highlights the tool suggests, choose 9:16, and export. OpusClip says you paste a video URL and it converts the spoken content into text, with a transcript you can download. Riverside says its Magic Clips turns long-form recordings into short clips with AI.

Castmagic suits you if you want to choose moments yourself from a transcript. OpusClip suits you if you start from a video URL and also want the text.

Do you want text posts or an editing workspace?

If you want to refine words and footage in one place, an editor fits better than a pure generator. Descript says its AI extracts your best highlights, which you can turn into clips with its social media editing tools. Its pricing page shows four plans, Free, Hobbyist, Creator and Business, with media minutes counted per editor.

According to the brand, its product is aimed at solo creators, marketing teams inside a company and social media agencies. Its stated path runs from a source to ideas, angles and drafts, so it suits a team that wants to review angles before writing.

Voice depends on the source material. Posts drafted from a transcript will echo how the speakers actually talked, and no setting replaces that. Plan to edit every draft.

Reuse only what every speaker knowingly allowed, and never publish anything that identifies a person or a client. Recording and reuse rules differ by place and by contract, so ask a legal professional before you build a routine around client calls.

Tools do create new copies of what was said. Descript states that media hours track uploaded media files and media recorded in Descript, whether or not they are transcribed. OpusClip says its transcript can be downloaded in seconds. Each copy is a place where sensitive speech now sits.

Putting the vendor pages side by side shows where those copies appear, consulted on 10/30/2026:

ToolWhere a copy of the speech appearsSource, date
DescriptUploaded or recorded media is tracked in the workspace, transcribed or notPricing page, 10/30/2026
OpusClipA transcript generated from the pasted video URL, which you can downloadProduct page, 10/30/2026
CastmagicA transcript from which you pick moments, then an exported 9:16 clipProduct page, 10/30/2026

None of these pages says how long copies are kept, which is one more reason to scrub details before upload.

A workable routine:

  1. Tell participants before the call that it is recorded and that the content may be reused, and keep their agreement in writing.
  2. Treat sales calls as the highest-risk source, because the prospect is an outside party. Reuse the question they asked, never the person.
  3. Remove names, companies, figures and anything identifiable from the transcript before it enters any tool.
  4. Publish a direct quote only after the speaker approves the exact wording.
  5. Read the vendor's privacy terms before uploading. The product pages linked here do not state them.

How do the options compare?

The table compares starting point and output as each vendor describes them on its own page, consulted on 10/30/2026 (brand facts: October 2026).

When should you choose something else?

Choose another route in these cases:

  • Audio only, text first: Podsqueeze describes one-click posts from audio.
  • Vertical clips only: Castmagic or OpusClip, as described above, are built around clips rather than idea development.
  • Scheduling and publishing: a dedicated social media scheduler handles that step, and none of the tools above is presented here for it.
  • No clear consent: skip the recording. Write from your own notes on the questions you hear most often, with every detail changed.
